About the Artist
I learned to tat while in high school and have kept at it since then. In 2004 I started making the colorful jewelry you see here using a huge variety of beads including genuine Swarovski crystal, Czech pressed glass, lampworked glass, semiprecious gemstones such as malachite, hematite, pearls, lapis lazuli, garnet and more. The thread I most prefer is DMC Cebelia 100% cotton which is available in quite a rainbow of colors. The earring findings are gold plated, silver plated, surgical steel, sterling silver or hypoallergenic niobium (in eight fashionable colors!) and titanium, as well as 14k gold posts and sterling silver posts and fishhooks. The necklace clasps are gold plated, silver plated, magnetic, and an expanding eclectic selection of sterling silver and lead-free pewter clasps. One of my favorites is a kitten playing with yarn. The magnetic clasps are particularly handy for people who suffer from arthritis and small children (they can't accidentally choke themselves). I also really like them for bracelets because they are so very easy to fasten one-handed.
Please drop me a note at Wendy@TattingByWendy.com or call me at 301-580-5205 to let me know how I may help you. (Llame 301-580-5354 para hablar en Espaņol con mi esposo, Giovanni.) If you are interested in hosting a home party showcasing this tatted jewelry in or near Montgomery County, Maryland, I'd love to hear from you.
